Did you hear our office recently went on a
vision services mission trip to Honduras?
From February 8-15, the Lyons Family Eye Care team joined VOSH International in Tela, Honduras. Working with 60 other VOSH volunteers, we were able to provide vision services to over 2,500 Hondurans and dispensed over 2,000 pairs of glasses and sunglasses. With the support of our community we hope to continue to participate in VOSH International missions across the globe.

So many great things to say about every aspect of this family run business.
Dr. Lyons is amazing – she exudes confidence but also friendliness and caring – she listened to all of my concerns, explained what she was looking for in the exam, step by step and explained the results thoroughly. She really me feel like I was getting the best care possible.
The rest of the staff was also amazing (Thank you John & Jeff for your help!) – very attentive, knowledgeable and friendly. They helped me pick out a great pair of frames and sunglasses and really spent the time to make sure I found exactly what I was looking for. I can’t say enough about all of the staff – just great people – too bad you only need an eye exam once per year, I would love to frequent here just to hang out with them!
The office is extremely clean, modern, and very high tech. I am a tech geek, so I was really impressed when the office forms were all presented on an iPad and many of the eye exams were all ran through a computer system.
Other pluses: Their prices are competitive and reasonable. They stock a wide range of brand named frames. If you check out their website they can also order you just about any frame out there. Easily accessible by public transportation, and easy to find meter parking. Flexible hours. A kids play area if necessary.
And finally, the best part of all – the pups in the waiting room. I LOVE dogs – and they were great. If you don’t like dogs, not to worry, they blend in with the furniture. They are quiet, calm, not pesty, but very friendly if you do want to pet them. Truly, the whole family works here!
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Lyons Family Eye Care. I will send the rest of my family here as soon as they are due for an eye exam.

Having glasses since I was three, I find myself to be a connoisseur of all things optical. I knew I did not want to go to a “eyeglass store,” as I want the primary source of drive for my visit to be to perfect my vision – which I believe can only be found with a optometry-focused office. While I did find this was the case at Lyons, they also had an ample and awesome selection of glasses and very helpful staff.
The office was quite comfortable and up-to-date in technology. The decor makes the experience pleasant and Dr. Lyons performed a very thorough and comfortable exam. I was incredibly happy with my appointment!
Side Note — I will never buy glasses anywhere else! I walked in without expecting to purchase glasses. When I asked if I needed help finding frames, I mentioned I was just browsing, yet they were happy to help me find the perfect frame, even if it was only for fun. The staff were fun, honest, and excited to help me find a great fit. At the end of the appointment, I did end up purchasing a pair and I could not be happier.

I walked into Lyons Family Eye Care just looking for somewhere close that took my insurance, I walked out a loyal customer. Dr. Stephanie Lyons exudes confidence and a wealth of knowledge as she expertly goes through your eye exam, explaining each test and result she conducts. John Lyons is the perfect “front of house” man; making you feel like you have been friends for years as he helps you go through your insurance benefits and pick out a pair of glasses. This wife and husband run optometrist is a breath of fresh air if you are used to the stuffy corporate optometrists of the world.

I’ve been wearing glasses or contacts since I was 8 years old, so I’m used to the routine eye exam. I have to say that this was the most at ease I’ve ever felt when going in for my yearly check up. What a wonderful establishment! I am SO glad that I chose Lyons Family Eye Care.

I found Lyons Family Eye Care by searching through the list of providers that accepted my vision insurance. I called around 10 am and was able to get an appointment for noon that same day (impressive and very convenient since I was out running errands in the area).
Dr. Lyons’ office is very modern and has state of the art vision equipment. Her staff are prompt and friendly. The eye exam was comprehensive and Dr. Lyons is extremely friendly, knowledgeable and professional. As a physician (M.D.) going into the field of Ophthalmology, I was extremely impressed with the services I received and would definitely recommend Lyons Family Eye Care to my friends and family.
